ROMANIA

November, 2018

Bill Returned to Bucharest and met with friends and the new teacher Constantine Bobu. A school is being identified where Bobu has taught before and classes should resume on weekends early 2019.

4th July 2018

In May Bill Gentry visited Bucharest Romania with a friend Gaby Mindreci. Gaby introduced Bill to Doru Liciu who is prominent in the Romanian government and they then met the President of the Policy Center, Florin Botonogu. The Policy Center is an NGO that gets involved with free art programs in the lower income neighbourhoods of Bucharest. Artists were met during the trip who are willing to work with the Policy Center and AWOD to start art classes at a Bucharest Community Center.

The goal is for classes to commence this summer, sessions beginning the second half of July 2018.

EL SALVADOR

4th July 2018

AWOD has just this year started an allegiance with Fundacion Casa De Ios Sueños in the country of EL Salvador.

Casa De Ios Sueños is an art program for lesser privileged children who have a passion for the arts. AWOD is assisting monthly with finances for art supplies for these children. Bill Gentry will be visiting EL Salvador and the Fundacion in September to meet the program directors and the children and research how AWOD can further assist their educational efforts!
