2022 Updates
Our 2021 year ended with a much-anticipated art competition at Colors of Cambodia in Siem Reap. The winning students and other finalist’s works then were included in the 2022 COC Art Calendar, released electronically to our supporters.

CURRENT PROJECTS
COLORS OF CAMBODIA ART SHOW AT META SPACE
Soon there-after the COC Advanced level students were invited to have a solo, COC only show, at the Meta Space Gallery in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. The show was titled “Auspicious Charm,” and created an amazing response from attendees. A local Cambodian Design Magazine “SOVRIN'' will be releasing an article about the show and the COC Project.
SCHOOLS REOPEN IN CAMBODIA
Further on concerning COC in Cambodia, the schools have opened back up throughout Cambodia and Advanced Students cum teachers are now back at the regional schools teaching art to new young students. The project is reawakening after a very tough two years, and hopefully tourists will return to Siem Reap and begin buying COC student at once again.
TEACHING AT ZUNI
January 2022
Since January Chairman Bill Gentry has taught three drawing classes at the Zuni Pueblo, four hours south west of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Follow-on classes are expected soon there as well as at the Apache Reservation in Dulce, New Mexico, this coming summer!
COLORS OF THE WORLD CAMPAIGN
Spring/Summer 2022
AWOD’s collaboration with Global Give-A-Book and Walmart.org, saw the Colors of The World Crayola Crayons distributed to community outreach programs, schools, and fellow nonprofits throughout Albuquerque and the Northern New Mexico Pueblos.
GGAB Ambassador, Mercedes, assisted in the distribution of Colors of The World Crayola Campaign in Albuquerque, NM. Every student also received a new quality book with their Crayola crayons.
LAVENDER LIBROS
Summer 2022
Chairman Bill Gentry was selected to represent AWOD at the Lavender in the Village Fest on behalf of Lavender Libros. Bill’s reading of Bear Came Along was a crowd favorite!
Lavender Libros is a literacy program hosted by Global Give-A-Book that asks community leaders to read award-winning books aloud encouraging children to listen and read along.
